Three levels of sport scholarship are available at the University of Nottingham which has recently opened a state-of-the-art sports facility.

University of Nottingham Water Polo Scholarships

Players competing at international, national or regional level are eligible to apply for a University of Nottingham Water Polo Scholarship.

There are four levels of sport scholarship at the University of Nottingham; the Sports Award, the Performance Sports Scholarship, the Elite Sports Scholarship and the Gold Scholar Award.

The Gold Scholar Award is the highest level of scholarship, with successful applicants receiving a support package of up to £8,000 including a financial bursary of £4,000 while an Elite Sports Scholarship carries a bursary of £2,000 and athletes on the Performance Sports Scholarship would receive £1,000.

The top three scholarships offer similar support services including performance lifestyle support and academic mentoring, sports-specific movement analysis and cardiac screening.

Meanwhile, athletes with any level of University of Nottingham Water Polo Scholarship would also receive access to specialist strength and conditioning facilities and program support, free physiotherapy, nutritional advice and anti-doping advice.

Sports Facilities at the University of Nottingham

Any level of University of Nottingham Water Polo Scholarship will include free sports membership giving you access to all of the University sports facilities.

The University’s state-of-the-art £40m million David Ross Sports Village opened its doors in 2016.

The facility includes a 200-station fitness suite, a performance strength and conditioning suite, an advanced sports injury clinic, an anti-gravity treadmill and a hydrotherapy pool.

The David Ross Sports Village also contains a 25m eight-lane swimming pool. The pool boasts a movable floor at the shallow end and is used by elite Nottinghamshire swimming squad Nova Centurion.
