A nation swimming

New look for national events nods to commitment of athletes and volunteers

Swim England’s national events have been given a fresh new look thanks to its partnership with GoCardless.

The national governing body’s official payments and headline events partner now features on all venue dressing at its major swimming, artistic swimming, diving, water polo and open water competitions.

Swim England’s team of talented designers worked closely with GoCardless to create an energetic concept which represents both brands and the four-year partnership, which was signed last July.

The design features a stylised splash, using patterns to represent the drama, movement and energy of all aquatic sports. The new branding will be used at each of the venues hosting Swim England’s 14 national events.

Mel Pollard, Swim England’s design manager said: “The partnership with GoCardless gave us a great opportunity to refresh the venue dressing at our events for the first time in seven years.

“We’ve worked closely with GoCardless to come up with the final concept which incorporates both brands and we’re delighted with the look. It brings a different energy to our competitions and we hope our clubs and members fully agree.”

Kate Rudkin, Swim England’s head of marketing and communications, added the national events would also feature a new hashtag on social media – #achievemore.

It was developed alongside the design concept to represent everyone involved in making the national events a success.

Athletes across all of the aquatics disciplines work hard throughout the year to compete at national level. #achievemore represents the spirit of these events – whether that’s qualifying, winning, or a personal best.

Huge commitment

She added: “#achievemore more perfectly sums up the partnership we have with GoCardless.

“It focuses on the achievements in the water at our events but also how GoCardless can help clubs achieve more by reducing the amount of administration time when it comes to payments.

“GoCardless has made a huge commitment to aquatic sports and it’s great to see this partnership flourish and them being an important part of our national events.”

Nicola Hamilton, VP marketing, brand and communications at GoCardless, said: “We’ve loved spending more time with aquatics clubs and understanding their challenges when it comes to collecting payments.

“Time is precious, especially as the vast majority of clubs are volunteer run.

“We’re proud to partner with Swim England and of the role that GoCardless can play in making life easier for both clubs and parents when it comes to payments.”

GoCardless can help aquatics clubs get paid faster and easier.

From membership fees to gala entries and one-off purchases from the club shop – it automates payment collection, cutting down on the amount of financial administration clubs need to deal with.
