Entry deadline for Swim England National Winter Championships extended

Swim England is extending the initial entry closing date for the National Winter Championships in a bid to give as many swimmers as possible a chance to qualify.

The event, which will take place from 3 – 5 December 2021 at the iconic Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield, will mark an exciting return to national short course racing in England later this year.

Most notably, the deadline for the initial close of entries this year has been extended to Thursday 25 November.

For future editions of the competitions, the deadline for entry submissions will revert back to approximately 10 days after the regional short course championships take place.

Ekaterina Boyd, Swim England head of events, said: “Now that national competitions are returning in England, Swim England is determined to ensure that as many swimmers as possible have the opportunity to safely race their peers and experience that excitement one again.

“Therefore, we felt that extending the entry deadline was an important decision to make in order to enable swimmers to reach the qualifying standards.

“Supporting clubs and their athletes is a top priority for us as a national governing body, and we look forward to welcoming swimmers and coaches alike back on competition poolside.”
