Safeguarding Aquatics For Everyone “The Story so Far”

What is the Collaborative Champions Project 2024?

The region is working with a number of external organisations in the delivery of bespoke training and development opportunities for our Club Welfare Officers. In 2024 we have already delivered the following workshops;

The Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) Training Programme.

This was organised and delivered by the region in partnership with one London Borough to a number of our aquatic clubs. The next steps will be to review feedback and roll out wider across London in the future. The themes linked to this workshop were ‘The Role of a LADO & Professional Boundaries’.

We have also collaborated with East Region on a MASH Referrals Workshop.

What does MASH do in safeguarding?

The Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) brings key professionals together to facilitate early, better quality information sharing, analysis and decision-making, to safeguard vulnerable children and young people more effectively.

Details of all workshops being delivered are emailed directly to Club Welfare Officers to reserve their space so please ensure your club contact details are up to date.

“Our organisation acknowledges the duty of care to safeguard, protect and promote the welfare of children and adults across all of our sports and activities.
