The academy allows aspiring swimming teachers to receive all their training for only £85, compared to the usual cost of over £1000. It includes a mentor to support your development and you will be matched with an employer.

About
Work hours are generally part-time including weekday evenings and weekends.
Once qualified, successful trainees will be employed as swimming teachers by:
- Tandridge Leisure Centre, Hoskins Road, Oxted, Surrey RH8 9HT
- De Stafford Sports Centre, Caterham, Surrey CR3 5YX
- The Village Health Club, Caterham Surrey CR3 5XY
A DBS check will be required before starting your volunteering hours.
Application Process
Applications for this academy have now closed. Please complete an expression of interest form if you would like to be notified of future academies in your area.
Shortlisted applicants will be given the opportunity to find out more about the swimming teacher opportunity at an informal virtual meet and greet session and interview that will take place after the closing date.
You don’t need any prior qualifications to apply as you will be supported through your training, although we are accepting applications from those who are halfway through their swimming teacher training or already have their level 1 or 2 qualifications.
There may be an opportunity for Swimming teachers to complete other qualifications e.g. lifesaving qualification (Pool Lifeguard or National Rescue Award).
Swimming Teachers will be required to sign a training agreement with a commitment to work for Freedom Leisure for a minimum of 2 years.
