This eLearning refreshes your knowledge and includes important updates on legislation, mental health and self-harm. You must have gained your Swim England in Aquatics Safeguarding certificate within the last three years to complete this refresher.

Who is the course designed for?

To complete this eLearning refresher, you must hold the Swim England Safeguarding certificate. This course should be taken before your certificate expires. If your Swim England Safeguarding certificate is over 3 years old, you will need to attend a full Swim England Safeguarding course.

This refresher is for swimming teachers, coaches and other personnel working within aquatics activities. It is a mandatory requirement for swimming teachers, coaches and club personnel within Swim England affiliated clubs or activities and is an integral part of the Club Affiliation process.

Content

During the eLearning you will learn about:

  • What safeguarding and child protection means, and how to apply this to practical situations during club activity
  • Updates on key safeguarding legislation
  • How to recognise types, signs and symptoms of abuse
  • How to react and respond to an individual who has a concern
  • Mental health and self-harm

Delivery format

The eLearning will take you approximately 1.5 hours to complete and includes interactive activities and knowledge checks throughout.
