Divers look to add to British success at European Junior Championships

After the success of Great Britain’s artistic swimmers and swimmers, a British diving team of 14 are in Rzeszów, Poland for the European Junior Diving Championships.

They’ll head to the Rzeszów Diving Arena which hosted the 2023 European for a week’s worth of diving action from Monday 8 to Sunday 14 July.

Amongst the squad are five members of the team that won eight medals at last year’s competition.

Three of those stepped onto the podium in 2023 with Jorden Fisher-Eames winning both individual gold in the Boys B Platform and synchronised silver alongside Noah Penman in the Boys A/B Synchronised Platform event. Hannah Newbrook meanwhile was part of Girls A/B Platform Synchronised team that won silver.

All three of those athletes are back for this year with Team Y’s Amelie Underwood also returning to the event who narrowly missed out on a medals in Croatia as well as Swim England Diving Talent Athlete of the Year Skye Fisher-Eames.

Also a part of the squad is Maisie Bond, who recovered from knee surgery to win European Junior gold in 2022 whilst the team also features a further five divers that were part of the 8 Nations Diving Meet team that finished runners-up in Turin back in March.

They’ll be hoping to repeat the nation’s success from the European Games 12 months ago which saw the GB team win seven medals in as many days, including golds for Ross Haslam and Eden Cheng.

The competition gets underway with the Team Event at 3pm UK time on Monday 8 July with the Girls A 3m Springboard and Boys A Platform finals closing out the Championships on Sunday.
