Swim England divers to gain ‘invaluable experience‘ at CAMO Invitational

Eight young divers will gain ‘invaluable international experience’ after travelling to Canada for the prestigious CAMO Invitational.

They will be competing at the Claude Robillard Sports Complex, in Montreal,  between Thursday 28 November and Sunday 1 December.

It is the third successive year Swim England divers have taken part in the competition and representatives from Crystal Palace, Southampton and Sheffield will be taking part in 1m and 3m Springboard events plus the Platform.

Suzie Collins, Swim England Talent Development Officer Diving, said: “The CAMO Invitational is a fantastic event that gives our divers great international exposure early in the season.

“This young England team will be gaining invaluable experience, learning how to compete following long-haul travel, managing jet lag, dealing with long competitions and training along side an international field of both junior and senior divers.

“The last two years have been really successful for us and many of the divers on the CAMO team have gone on to make British teams later in the season.”

Out of the recent Great Britain squad that competed in the FINA Diving Grand Prix in Singapore, Ben Cutmore, Leon Baker and Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix have all previously competed at the CAMO Invitational and won medals.
