Fareham Nomads Swimming Club is based in Fareham and is looking for a highly skilled and dynamic new Head Coach to join our team. This role will work across our six competitive squads and also our Masters squad, ensuring that all coaches and swimmers achieve their maximum potential.

Fareham Nomads has around 180 swimmers throughout the club, including Learn to Swim and the competitive squads. We are a friendly, community-based club run by volunteers and currently have a Club Coach, Development Coach, Learn to Swim Co-ordinator and a number of other teachers and coaches.

We are looking for a highly motivated and committed individual, who works collaboratively, to join our successful Club with a demonstrable and impressive CV in competitive swimming. This is a leadership role that will also encompass responsibilities across the Club with hours worked at sessions held during early mornings, evenings, and weekends and time away at competitions.

Applicants should hold a Swim England Senior Swimming Coach Certificate/Level 3 Coaching Award.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a strong leader and team player who is highly self-motivated.
  • Continue to develop our successful programme.
  • Be someone who works collaboratively with swimmers, parents, other coaches and the committee to sustain a positive environment and club ethos.
  • Manage, support and develop a team of coaches and teachers.
  • Have the ability to identify, nurture, support and develop swimming talent.
  • Demonstrate the ability to deliver a quality training programme for swimmers with a variety of abilities and aspirations.
  • Develop the club as a whole, working closely with the committee and Learn to Swim Co-ordinator.
  • Attend targeted competitions and develop and maintain our club competition calendar.
  • Liaise with parents and the committee on matters relating to club and swimmers' club development.

We are a friendly and inclusive club, with aspirations to compete at regional and national levels. We swim out of four different local pools.

Fareham is a SwimMark accredited club with more than 180 members across the Learn to Swim programme and swimming squads. We currently have swimmers who will be competing at the British and English Summer Nationals this year, and we need someone who can continue to develop our talented athletes.
