Teaching School Swimming and Water Safety – Mountbatten Leisure Centre

This CPD is designed to equip Swimming Teachers with the knowledge and understanding of KS1 to KS2, covering swimming and water safety, enable you to deliver lessons in line with National Curriculum PE requirements.

This is a CIMSPA Endorsed CPD and you will gain 1.5 points for attending.

Who is the CPD designed for?
This CPD is aimed at SEQ Level 2 swimming teachers.

Content
During this session you will learn about:

• The programme of study for national curriculum PE at Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in line with requirements for swimming and water safety
• The differences between school swimming lessons and Learn to Swim lessons and what makes an effective school swimming programme
• Activities that will challenge and engage pupils more fully whilst enhancing learning in other areas of the national curriculum, and helping them to make better progress
• Applying the Swim England School Swimming and Water Safety Charter
